Website Analytics – Are your potential customers visiting valuable pages on your website?
Google Analytics helps you understand there are many things people the overall health of your website. Track when visitors click on internal pages, leave your site, or click on internal links.
More specifically, focus on product and landing pages. Are your website visitors doing anything? If they’re not signing up for your email list, buying your products, or otherwise engaging with your brand, there’s a problem.
9. Determine if your potential customers are a good fit for your brand or product
Your target audience must align with the about how your product can help products you sell. Each audience must also resonate with your brand.
For example, GoPro sells camera equipment. That’s its basic business model. But it specifically targets people who want to record action-oriented experiences. Its target audience includes athletes, thrill seekers, and people who love to travel.
Nikon and Canon also sell photographic equipment. However, their target audience is broader, and many of their customers are professional photographers.
If GoPro starts attracting people who want sale lead to take pictures of their family and friends, their lead nurturing strategy won’t work. These people aren’t their target audience.
Potential Customer Demographics
Demographic data includes characteristics of individual consumers, such as location, age, gender, income level, interests, and job title. You can gather this information from many sources, but first you need to know which demographics are best suited for your product.
Let’s go back to the GoPro example. A buyer persona for GoPro might have the following demographics:
- (male)
- Age 20-40
- Minimum annual income of $40,000
- Bachelor degree or above
- Integrated
- Middle management or below
This is just one persona. Other personas might include women, different age groups, high or low income people, married professionals, or CEOs. However, GoPro must find a reason to include these people in its target audience.
